About the knights
If you're looking for truly world class diving, then why not enjoy a day trip to The Poor Knights! A stunning set if Islands about 23km off the Tutukaka coastline, The Poor Knights are a marine reserve with a massive diversity of marine life.
These islands are 11 million years old, and are home to some of NZ's most incredible life both above and below the water! The Poor Knights Islands are also home to the world's largest sea cave, and largest insect!
For us divers, the past few years have seen an incredible variety of life at 'The Knights'. Of course, you have the regulars such as stingrays, scorpion wrasse and dozens of nudibranch, but we have also seen turtles, a whale shark (!), manta rays, mola mola, seals, dolphins, lord howe angelfish, orca and more than a few varieties of shark.
The Knights has so many dive sites that it caters easily for any certification and experience level, but you must be a certified diver for this trip. You're also more than welcome to dive with a guide or can choose to dive your plan with your buddy!
Please note - this does mean that you are responsible for getting yourself up to the Bay of Islands (about 2.5 to 3 hours drive North of Auckland) for 8am on your trip date. This is not a trip that departs from Waiheke!
