As part of our commitment to conservation and the health of our oceans, Waiheke Dive & Snorkel organises regular clean up dives here on Waiheke!
These events are completely free of charge to attend - the 'booking fee' to allocate your spot is donated directly to project AWARE on your behalf.
Beach cleans & clean up dives are a great way to get involved with your local community and put your skills as a diver to use for a great cause!
We run these events using the tools and philosophies of Project AWARE's Dive Against Debris program, and have had great success all throughout the world in removing marine waste!
You'll meet at the store at the published time, where you'll meet your event leader for the day. As a group we'll then head to our chosen location where you'll receive a thorough briefing, be allocated equipment such as mesh bags before heading into the water for your dive.
If you need gear then just let us know, as we offer 50% off gear hire for all of our clean up dives! We do have limited stocks, so this is strictly on a first come first served basis.
If you have a buddy that's booked on too then awesome! If not we're more than happy to buddy you up with a similarly or more experienced and qualified diver so everyone has a great time and gets as much trash out of our oceans as we can!
Why clean up with us?
Beach cleans & Clean up dives are a great way to use your skills as a diver, snorkeller or conservation enthusiast to make a difference to our oceans and coastline.
We always need help on the beach as well as in the water, so if you, friends or family want to help but don't want to or can't dive then you would be greatly appreciated as part of our beach team!
Divers of all certification levels are more than welcome, although please be aware that you do need to be a confident and competent diver for these activities.
Simply book online, and soon after you'll get a confirmation email from the team along with some specific info. You'll need to let us know if you have any gear hire requirements (to be paid separately), provide proof of your certification and experience levels and complete the appropriate medical and liability release form.
