Want to start the process of becoming an PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox), but not yet ready to get in the water? Complete the PADI e-learning for you course, wherever you are and at your leisure so that you are ready to get in the water with us at a later date! 

We'll be at the other end of the phone or just an email away if you have any questions during the theory, as we love talking diving!

Just to be clear - this is purely the 'theory' section of the PADI Enriched Air Diver Course. It will not make you a certified Nitrox diver on it's own, and you will need to join us for the practical sections at some point... this just means you can get started now and continue at a later date!

What happens?

After purchasing this package, you'll receive an email from PADI (please keep an eye on your spam folder just incase!) with a link to begin your digital learning. This is an awesome, interactive learning platform that is then perfectly complimented by in-person teaching by your Instructor. 

When you have completed your e-learning, just get in touch with us to book your diving space and pay the balance (which is the full course fee, less the cost of this e-learning) and then come diving!

If you have a buddy that's booked on too then awesome! If not you'll be buddied up with another course mate for the duration of the course.

IMPORTANT STUFF!

Simply book online, and soon after you'll get a confirmation email from the team along with some specific info, such as meeting times and locations. 

You'll need to let us know some of your sizes so that we can allocate gear if you need any (at an additional hire fee) and complete the appropriate medical and liability release forms and provide proof of certification as a diver. 

You must have checked through the medical form and obtained medical clearance (only required if you need to answer "yes" to one or more of the questions) before your activity starts, or else you won't be able to take part. Click here to download the PADI Medical Form.

Nitrox fill cost in not included in the course fee. 

Also, while we can supply materials in a variety of languages, the course is taught in English so a good level of spoken English is also required.

Please note that for this course our minimum age is 15 and we need in person, signed paperwork from a parent or guardian for anyone under 18.

Shipping 

We're a tiny, independent dive store but we're stoked to say that 95% of orders are shipped within 3 working days to anywhere in NZ!

Some more unusual items may not be in everyday stock with us, but will be in stock with our suppliers. In these circumstances it may take an extra day or two. 

We happily ship anywhere within New Zealand, and have happy customers everywhere from Aotea Great Barrier Island to the Chathams!

For delivery to addresses on Waiheke, there is no shipping charge!   

We’ll keep you updated throughout the delivery process, with notification and tracking when your items are dispatched. We do our best to keep shipping charges as low as we can. 

Returns 

We have a ‘no worries’ return and exchange policy, where you can return your items to us within 14 days of receiving them for a full refund or exchange*. 

We want you to be happy with your products, and can totally understand that online retail can make life more difficult with sizing choices.

Waiheke Dive & Snorkel will happily accept returns* within 14 days of purchase or delivery (whichever is longer) for a full refund (less shipping costs & our payment provider fees, which is around 3% of your order value).

Items must;

  • be in a brand new, un-used condition
  • have all original tags and packaging.

Items that are returned to us but do not meet these conditions remain the property of the customer, and the customer is responsible for any shipping costs associated with returning their items to them. 

If your item had free shipping;

If your order qualified for free shipping but, once the value of the returned items is taken into account, would not have qualified then we will issue a refund less the shipping costs for the order. The customer is responsible for any costs associated with returning the items to us. 

If your items were part of a package;

If items were part of a package which was sold at a discounted price from the original RRP, then the refund amount will be calculated by adding the full current sales price of all un-returned items together, and then discounting this from the price paid. This remaining balance is the amount that will be refunded for any returned items. 

Funds are back in your account within 3 working days 95% of the time, but please be aware that it can (very rarely) take up to 10 working days for a refund to complete depending on the relationships between our and your banks. 

Exchanges

We are more than happy for you to exchange an item*, as long as it is returned to us within 14 days of purchase / delivery. Items must be in a brand new, un-used condition and must have all original tags and packaging, just as if they were a full return.

If you want to exchange a wetsuit, boots, fins, or gloves then we will cover the shipping to get your new size to you for the first exchange! After the first size exchange, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs.

The customer is responsible for any costs associated with returning the items to us. 

*Please note - snorkels & regulator mouthpieces are excluded from this returns policy for hygiene reasons. These policies also exclude dive courses, activities, servicing, air fills, gift vouchers, swimwear and any items sold as clearance, where all sales are final.

    Dive / Snorkel Course and / or Activity Terms & Conditions 

    (dive & snorkel courses, trips, tours, guided activities, charters and adventures!)

    • Medical (Scuba)- You must check the 'Dive medical' before booking & before activating your PADI e-learning codes (if on a course). This medical form may highlight any potential issues that would prevent you from engaging in SCUBA activities, and must be completed before any in water session of your activity. Please complete the form accurately and honestly. If you answer 'yes' to any of the questions, then you need to attend your GP and get a formal written clearance to dive on the medical form. Failure to do so before the activity starts could see you being unable to dive and, as such, forfeiting your booking without refund. If you can answer all 'no' to the questions, then you do not need to visit your Dr. Click here to view the PADI Medical Form.
    • Homework (courses only) - You must complete your assigned homework before the course start date. Failure to do so puts the entire group behind because we may not be allowed under PADI Standards to take you in the water before its complete. If this is the case, it means you automatically forfeit your entire booking with no refund, or may have to pay for catch up sessions.
    • Swimming - For all water activities, you need to be a comfortable swimmer. For the PADI Open Water course, you are required to swim 200m non-stop and complete a 10 min tread water / float in water too deep to stand. This is completed early during your course and, failure to complete this means that you are not able to continue with your course without refund. 
    • COVID Isolation - If you are required under the current Ministry of Health requirements to isolate, then please get in touch asap and we will issue you a credit voucher for the value of your booking, so you can re-book your activity post isolation. 
    • Date Changes - We know that sometimes things happen, so we’re more than happy for you to change your dates free of charge with at least 14 days notice. We're a small business on a beautiful Island, but this means sometimes we have logistics that others don't need to think about. As such, changes with less than 14 days’ notice will forfeit 50% of the original fee, unless we are able to fill your space. Changes with less than 7 days notice will forfeit 100% of the fee, unless we are able to fill your space. Changes to activity dates once your activty has begun or switching courses is not possible, and refunds will not be issued should you choose not to, or be unable to, complete your course for any reason. 
    • Cancellations - We regret that we can not accept cancellations, so we recommend customers choose to reschedule instead to avoid loosing their course fee. You may transfer your booking to another individual, less the cost of any activated PADI e-learning if you're on a course. 
    • Refunds - Seasickness, not feeling like diving / snorkelling, personal health, faulty equipment, inability to equalise, not liking the weather, or any other circumstantial or personal situations that are outside of our control are not valid reasons for a refund, and will not be accepted.
    • Rental / Hire Gear - Once booked, equipment is allocated to you. Rental / Hire Gear is subject to the same terms and conditions as activities in regards to cancellation, date changes, change of mind and refunds.  
    • Weather - SCUBA & snorkelling are weather dependent sports, and our experienced team will always make sure that your safety is out top priority. We'll always choose the best location that we can for our activities. We will make the yes / no weather call the day before your activity as Waiheke Weather can be different to what is forecasted in Auckland. In the event that the weather forces us to cancel an activity, you will be offered an alternative date or a refund. If an activity has already begin and weather then forces a cancellation, we will offer an alternative date or a pro-rata refund along with the PADI Referral paperwork (if applicable) outlining exactly what has been completed so far. 
    • Ropes Off - If you are late, it is entirely possible that the boat / charter / group will have left without you! Dive & snorkel trips are run to a schedule due to tides or other commitments for the charter company. If you've missed the trip then...well.. you've missed the trip and no refund will be given regardless of circumstance. 
    • Certification - You must bring proof of certification (if applicable), and ideally your logbook, to be allowed to dive. Failure to do so means you will not be allowed to dive and will not be refunded. No proof of certification, no diving. 
    • Equipment - Equipment use is included in Guided Snorkelling tours, the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program and the PADI Open Water Course. For all other courses and activities, hire rates apply with a 50% discount from published rates. 
    • Gear Check - Please ensure that all your gear is fully working, serviced and suitable for the activity you are about to undertake, including any hire equipment. You must ensure all equipment is checked and working before boarding the charter vessel, regardless if it's hired or your own. Limited quantities of spares may be available, but we recommend all divers are self sufficient in terms of their equipment requirements. 
    • Sizing - We have equipment in a range of sizes, from XXS up to a maximum of 2XL for SCUBA diving and from Kids age 6 up to Mens 4XL in snorkelling gear. If you are outside of this size range, then we may not be able to accomodate you so please get in touch before booking. 
    • Language - We can happily provide course materials in a variety of languages where available, however please be aware that all activities are conducted and taught in English and as such a good standard of spoken English is essential. We are experienced in teaching students whose first language is not English, but please remember SCUBA and snorkelling are adventure sports, and it is absolutely essential that all participants clearly understand what is expected of them, can understand all safety briefings and emergency procedures. 
    • Alcohol - While Waiheke is often called the 'Island of Wine' please bear in mind that intake of alcohol and then SCUBA / snorkelling do not mix! If you have consumed alcohol before activities, are showing signs of intoxication, a hangover or staff have any reason to believe that this might be the case then you will not be permitted to take part and no refunds will be given.
    • Safety - You will be expected to dive and snorkel within your certification and experience levels, and in accordance with the PADI safe diving practices at all times. Failure to do so may see you being prevented from continuing activities without a refund. 
    • Insurance - For all overseas trips you are required to have current diving insurance. 
    • Catch ups (courses only) – Our courses have a schedule that is designed to have the right balance between giving students time to learn and master their skills and progressing at an efficient pace while being more generous than many other dive stores, and this suits the vast majority of students. Occasionally however, some students need additional time to fully master the requirements of the course as they are unable to complete in the pre-determined time frame for whatever reason. In these circumstances, we are more than happy to arrange extra time with one of our Instructors, but this is at the student’s expense at the same pro-rata hourly rate as their original course.
    • Finally, please remember that you pay for the training, but you earn the certification! You have to earn a certification by completing a course, as required, to a certain standard. If you are unable or unwilling to do so, for any reason, then we are not able to certify you. 

    RETURNS

    Servicing Terms & Conditions

    By booking your items in for service / testing, you agree to all terms and conditions.

    • Waiheke Dive will, upon request, provide an indicative costing for the required work however, as this work is often outsourced and varies from make / model and individual item requirements this is not a formal quotation and should be used as an approximate guide only. If items require additional works which increases the cost by greater than 20% of the indicative cost, Waiheke Dive will endeavour to contact the customer for permissions to conduct the work.
    • Equipment will not be released in a condition that is deemed unsafe - this might mean that perishable items such as hoses or mouthpieces will automatically be replaced if necessary, without further consultation. The customer will be provided with their original ‘replaced’ components for their reference.
    • Items that are left for longer than 30 days from the date of completion will be subject to a storage fee of $1 per day. 
    • All items that are left for longer than 90 days from the date of completion will automatically become the property of Waiheke Dive and Snorkel LTD, and sold to recover costs.

    Check & Tune

    • A check and tune is a simple check, by a member of staff, of the ability of a regulator to hold pressure, operate without immediately free flowing and a visual check of hoses and mouthpieces. It is not designed to replace a full service as per manufacturer’s recommended scheduling - rather, it is a complimentary check designed to identify basic maintenance that is required periodically. 

    Full Service

    • A full service is when your equipment is fully serviced by an authorised technician. The technician will dismantle your equipment, thoroughly clean the components, remove and replace the relevant parts as per the manufacturer’s servicing guidelines, reassemble your regulators and then tune them as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. Full service fees consist of service kits for each stage, plus labour and as such vary from regulator to regulator.

    Cylinder testing

    • Hydrostatic testing is required every 24 months from the previous hydrostatic test date and a Visual test is required 12 months after the last hydrostatic test. Cylinders that are out of test will not be filled.
    • For cylinder testing, in the event of a ‘fail’ then the customer is still liable for all associated costs as this is a service. The ‘failed’ cylinder must be rendered unusable and will only be returned specifically upon request once all balances are paid.
