We are NZ's only completely no take & conservation focused 'full service' dive shop. Our market is a mixture of Kiwis from all over NZ, Waiheke locals, and we're stoked to be welcoming back international visitors!
We believe in engaging with our community, and are active in local sustainability and conservation projects. We’re proudly a small business, with a small team and a local feel, so all of us get hands on and stuck in with whatever needs to be done.
If this sounds like your kind of dive shop, then keep reading for more info about this opportunity.
About the Job
We have vacancies for casual PADI Professionals and for commercial skippers (minimum MSCDB), with the option to stay on the books 'long term'. The role is purely casual, with work offered with no obligation.
We are busiest at weekends and through school holidays, but welcome applicants with a variety of availabilities.
As an Instructor then you may be conducting a DSD with clients visiting Waiheke in the morning and then snorkelling with a school group in the afternoon, or perhaps a private 1 to 1 open water course with a VIP Island guest.
As a Divemaster, you may be guiding clients on a shore dive in the morning, and then in the water for a guided snorkelling tour in the afternoon.
As a skipper, you'll be in charge of running dive and snorkelling adventures from our custom dive RHIB, Tū Moana.
The ideal candidate will have great people skills, an infinite passion for our oceans (particularly in conserving them - if you’re all about hunting then we’re not the dive shop for you!) with the ability to receive and communicate important information effectively.
You will need to be adaptable and able to give 100% to every customer that you engage with.
We're a busy shop, so you do need to be able to thrive under pressure and operate independently while maintaining our high standards of customer service and safety first approach to activities.
You must be / hold;
- an in-status PADI Instructor, Divemaster or Skipper.
- Hold a relevant and valid Certificate of Competence (C.O.C) / relevant Maritime NZ clearance
- Have an Occupational Diver Medical Clearance (for dive team)
- a full clear NZ driving licence
- have the right to work in NZ.
- a clear police record
- Happy to work weekends
In return, we offer a fun and engaging workplace with a stunning office for you to enjoy, awesome perks and fair remuneration. We will assist with ferry costs for those living in Auckland, so please don't let that be a barrier.
Staff pricing on dive gear is very generous (we’re dealers for Scubapro, Mares, Shearwater and so much more) and there's plenty of other adventures to be had!
Please send your C.V. and covering letter to email@example.com
