July / August '18 Newsletter
Welcome to the July / August newsletter!
Being winter and all, understandably there are a few less divers in the water hence this bi-monthly newsletter but... that hasn't stopped us from having heaps of fun!
Since we last spoke, Adam and the team have been diving on the Island and at The Poor Knights! We've also been teaching courses in the City and catching up with returning divers and new ones too!
In June, Adam and a bunch of divers headed up to the stunning Poor Knights Islands, where we all enjoyed four incredible dives over 2 days. Massive congratulations to Rosco and Blair for completing theirAdvanced Open Water, and also to Stephen and Blair for completing the Enriched Air (Nitrox) course!
We saw literally thousands of Blue Mao Mao, Carpet Sharks, massive Stingrays, Kingfish and even the elusive Crested Weedfish made an appearance... along with a super-pod of Dolphins on the boat ride home!
Check out the video above. It was so incredible in fact, that we're heading back this August! Join us for 1 or 2 days of diving - come along purely for fun or why not complete your Advanced Open Water in this world class location?
We also headed over to the big city (a rarity for the Waiheke Dive team!) to run a couple of courses for the future skippers of the Auckland University Underwater Club! The students were great fun as we ran through the Emergency Oxygen Provider and Emergency First Response courses to keep them up to date with their emergency response capabilities. Thanks for having us team!
We've also squeezed in some PADI Open Water Courses (a massive congratulations to David, Danielle, Metua, & Josh for joining the PADI family as certified divers, and good luck to our students 'in progress'), aPADI Rescue Diver Course with Emergency First Response (well done Maite and Peter), plus some purely fun dives here on the Waiheke coastline!
All the best
Adam and The Waiheke Dive & Snorkel Team
